In the medical language, gynecomastia is the result of breast growth in men, just like in women. Gynecomastia, which grows more than it should be and causes psychological problems, can be eliminated with gynecomastia surgery.

Gynecomastia has been recognized as a disease in the medical literature. One of the causes of gynecomastia, which is defined as breast enlargement in men, is an imbalance in hormones. Men's body produces testosterone during puberty. However, there is also a small amount of estrogen hormone (female hormone). Gynecomastia is caused by these hormones being imbalanced. Of course, this is not the only reason: Various causes such as tumors of endocrine origin, testicular development disorders, side effects of hormone drugs cause breast enlargement in men.

How is gynecomastia diagnosed?

Gynecomastia is a growth of more than 2 cm in the breast tissue of men. During adolescence, the chest area sags, but this situation is temporary. Therefore, gynecomastia cannot be diagnosed in children in the developmental age immediately. Another reason for sagging breasts is obesity. Fat masses accumulate in the chest area and sagging is observed. In this case, it is possible to have a healthy appearance by seeing a dietician. If gynecomastia has occurred textively and genetically, it is not possible to completely eliminate it by doing sports.

Gynecomastia treatment process:

The story of the patients who come to think that they have gynecomastia is listened and their expectations are taken into account. Hormone test is performed to find out the cause of breast growth. The patient, who passes a detailed health screening, is evaluated in terms of heart diseases, blood pressure and diabetes.

The most frequently used method in gynecomastia treatments is the liposuction method. With liposuction, also known as the fat removal technique, the risk of bleeding is minimized and the healing process is shortened. After the operation, the patient is taken to the observation room and kept under control.

Gynecomastia surgery is performed on men who are over the age of 18 and do not have a health problem that will prevent the operation.

With the supervision of a doctor, solid foods are not preferred for a few days in order to prevent damage to the stitches after surgery. A three-week corset application is available and mandatory during the treatment. After the surgery, the chest area should not be exposed to direct sunlight for the first three months.
