Turkey Neck Lift Surgery

Neck lift surgery is performed in order to remove the loosening and sagging in the neck skin and muscle tissue under the skin. ​It eliminates problems such as sagging, wrinkles and loosening in the neck area due to genetic factors, excessive weight gain and loss, gravity and aging.​

Fat deposits on the neck are removed by liposuction if the patient is young and the skin is tight. The term liposuction means degreasing by vacuum. A good planning should be made before the neck lift surgery, which is applied as a continuation of the face lift surgery. Thanks to this planning, postoperative scars can be stored in the best way. 

The operation takes about 2-3 hours. It is generally applied to men and women over the age of 40.

​There are important points to be known before surgery. The intake of products such as aspirin and vitamin E should be stopped 10 days before the operation date.  Likewise, these products should not be taken for 3 weeks after surgery. 

​Although neck lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia, it is also performed under local anesthesia accompanied by sedation. ​Since it is an operation that requires anesthesia, consumption of all food and beverages should be stopped at least 8 hours before the surgery.​

​Postoperative pain is minimal. A special bandage-corset is worn after the operation. This corset should be used for 4-5 days. ​Smoking should not be used until 2 weeks before the operation and at least 4 weeks after the operation in order to ensure rapid and smooth recovery and not to disrupt the blood circulation and vascularization. 

Post-operative ice application speeds up the healing process. The patient can be discharged 2 days after surgery. Numbness can be observed in the face area for a few weeks. This is normal and not permanent. After the operation, you should stay away from heavy exercise and strenuous work for at least 2 weeks. You should also stay away from activities such as alcohol and steam bath for a few months. 

The swelling and bruises that will occur after the operation disappear in 3 weeks.
